North Carolina recently earned the top spot as the #1 state for women in the tech workforce. NC TECH plays a crucial role in supporting women in this industry by offering programs and initiatives aimed at closing the gender gap. These include leadership development, networking opportunities, professional development, and programs designed to inspire and educate the next generation of women in technology.
NC TECH’s Summit for Women in Tech is held in Spetember in beautiful New Bern, North Carolina. At this event, female tech and business leaders from across the state will gather along the Neuse River to celebrate the strides that have been taken, but also focus on the work still yet to be done to improve representation for women in the tech industry and in leadership positions.
Betsy Justus was NC TECH’s founding CEO, a pioneer among women in technology, and a North Carolina leader. Upon her passing, NC TECH created a scholarship in her name to support young women in North Carolina who pursue an academic and career path in technology and/or engineering.
Each year, two students are selected to receive a $1,000/year scholarship for either a 2- or 4-year degree program. NC TECH accepts applications through April 1 each year.
NC TECH hosts Lean In Circles - a space where women can come together in small groups across roles and levels to get peer-to-peer mentorship, connect with each other, recognize and combat gender bias, and build leadership skills. Whether you need help navigating your new normal at work or are looking for support from women who understand what you're going through, your Circle can give you the boost we all need.
NC TECH Connect allows members to network with peers, share content, collaborate, and socialize including posting pictures, polls, discussions, and events. An important function is for folks to gather in "groups" around commonalities, both exclusive (CIOs/CISOs, Tech CEOS, Directors + Advisors, etc.), and general special interest (Cyber Security, Women in Tech, Talent).
