February was another strong month for North Carolina’s technology sector and the NC TECH community. We released our annual research report, North Carolina State of Technology Industry Report (NC STIR), offering valuable insights into how North Carolina’s tech industry compares nationally and where growth is headed. The report debuted at our annual Outlook for Tech event, where more than 250 technology leaders gathered in Charlotte for a forward-looking discussion on the trends shaping 2026 and beyond.

We also celebrated NC TECH’s 33rd anniversary at the North Carolina Executive Mansion, welcomed 30 new organizational members, introduced 14 new Board Advisors, finalized our 2026 Executive Board, and added three new members to our Board of Directors — all strong indicators of the continued momentum and collaboration driving tech across our state.

NEXT TECH Award Nominations

Nomination Deadline Extended to March 13 - Nominate Now!

NC TECH, in partnership with Business North Carolina and our presenting sponsor MetLife, launched the NEXT TECH Awards to showcase and celebrate North Carolina’s rising tech stars.

We are seeking contributors who go the extra mile, build products, grow revenue, support operations, and manage projects that propel businesses forward.  What all these individuals have in common is their exceptional business impacts, positive energy and attitude, and community engagement.

NEXT TECH Awards will honor a selection of individuals who are critical and exceptional performers helping to grow our state’s tech and tech-enabled companies and organizations, but who — not being a c-suite executive — don’t often get recognized publicly.

Winners will be celebrated at NC TECH's new annual event, TechFest North Carolina, on May 13.
