Women Leading in Tech: Stephanie Styons

Women Leading in Tech: Stephanie Styons

In the lead-up to the 2026 Summit for Women in Tech, we’re sharing Women Leading in Tech Executive Spotlights to celebrate the achievements of female tech leaders across our state.

We’re proud to feature Stephanie Styons, EVP at Wireside Communications, who works with technology companies to raise visibility and build creditability through strategic communcations.

Building Visibility for Technology Companies

I work with technology companies and their executives to raise visibility and build credibility through strategic public relations and communications programs. From launching products and promoting services to elevating executive thought leadership and securing meaningful media opportunities, I help innovative companies tell their stories and connect with the audiences that matter most. My focus is helping technology brands stand out in a crowded market and position themselves as industry leaders.

Biggest Influences

Honestly, it wasn't one person. It was the technology industry itself. I fell into tech PR early in my career and quickly realized that the people building these companies are some of the most interesting storytellers I've met. Their passion, innovation and vision are contagious. Once I started helping them tell their stories, I knew this was where I wanted to build my career.

If you swap roles with another woman in tech, who would it be?

If I could switch roles with someone in technology for a week—and magically have all the knowledge to do the job—I would want to be an engineer working in R&D at a tech company. Currently, I help tech companies tell their stories, so I'd love the chance to see firsthand how those innovations are actually created.

I'd be fascinated to watch how engineers take an idea and turn it into a product or breakthrough technology. Seeing how they solve problems, collaborate and think through challenges would be an incredible learning experience.

How is Wireside supporting women in the tech workforce?

Wireside is committed to creating opportunities for women to grow, lead and thrive in technology communications.

Internally, we invest in the careers of women by providing leadership opportunities, professional development and long-term career growth.

Through our client work, we amplify the voices of women founders, executives and technologists, helping raise their visibility and establish them as industry leaders through strategic communications programs.

We empower women, accelerate careers and help build a stronger pipeline of female leadership across the technology industry.

Summit for Women in Tech Highlights

I've attended every Summit since it began. What struck me most was the energy in the room—the pride, candor and willingness of women to share their experiences and support one another.

My favorite part of the Summit is bringing together so many smart, accomplished and driven women in technology. There's an incredible amount of strength, intelligence and passion in one place.

Events like this are important because they're rare. It's not often that you have the opportunity to gather so many women in tech in one room to learn from one another, make connections and inspire each other to do more.

Book Recommendations, Spending Time Outdoors & a Go-To Quote

Books Recommendations

I don't really have a single "must-read" book. I read more for inspiration, to learn something new, or honestly, just to get lost in a good story. I love historical fiction because it lets me step into a different time and place, and every now and then I'll pick up a good romance novel, too.

For me, the best books are the ones where you get so invested in the story and the characters that you don't want it to end, and you find yourself still thinking about it days later.

Favorite Way to Spend a Day Of

Easy — spending time with my family, preferably outdoors. Whether we're at the beach, exploring somewhere new or just enjoying a nice day outside, That's my favorite way to relax and recharge.
