More About Kate
I am an Entrepreneur and Founder of Connections Consulting Partners, which I started 5 years ago. We are a consultative talent management firm that focuses on people and relationships. We are disrupting the old way of recruiting, and focused on providing a human centric, efficient, effective process for talent attraction and retention. We provide strategic advisory services as a consultative partner on how to scale and grow your business through flexible resources. We offer executive search, direct hire, RPO, interview coaching, and training services.
Biggest Influences
My husband, who has worked in IT for 25 years. When we first got married and moved to Raleigh 20 years ago, I was working in healthcare staffing, and he told me that IT was the fastest growing industry. So, 20 years ago I transitioned from healthcare to technology, and have grown both my corporate career and entrepreneurial career around IT consulting services
If you swap roles with another woman in tech, who would it be?
Not tech related, but female empowerment related, I admire Reese Witherspoon. I love how she took her acting career and saw gaps for female directors and producers and the female narrative for lead roles, so she started her own production firm, Hello Sunshine. She took a frustration of how Hollywood valued and portrayed women and turned it into a media empire, including a book club where she gets the ideas and movie rights to her films.
How is Connections Consulting Partners supporting women in the tech workforce?
I serve on many non-profit organizations that support women in their tech careers. I have served on the Board of Directors for AITP-RTP Chapter for the past 9 years. I have helped co-host the SIM-RTP Women's group that meets quarterly for the past 5 years. I helped expand Carolina Women in Tech from Charlotte to Raleigh 4 years ago. And I am a volunteer speaker and coach for the Triangle Chapter of Dress for Success NC

Summit for Women in Tech Highlights
I have attended the NC Tech Women Summit in the past when it was in New Bern two years ago, and I really enjoyed hearing and learning from all the different women in the room. I like how NC Tech brings women from across industries and across the whole state of NC together. It is important to network beyond just our immediate local circle of RTP. And I am honored to participate as a speaker on the panel "Futureproofing Your Career" at this year's Summit for Women in Tech in Asheville later this month

I love to travel and NC has some very beautiful spots, like Lake Lure and the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the NC Coast is full of great beaches and lighthouses. When I get a day off, I am taking a roadtrip, spending time outdoors and enjoying nature.
