Biggest Influences
I didn’t come to technology through code. I came through storytelling. My early work in creative direction and video production at Transformation Church put the hardware in my hands and let me use technology to shape an environment that fostered people’s spirits, hearts, and minds. I carried that into my scripting and production work at Bank of America, where I saw how much technology shaped nearly every decision inside a large financial institution. Everything I do in my career now comes back to that same purpose: using technology to make the lives of the people around me better. That’s what drew me to Hylaine, and it’s still what drives my work today.
If you swap roles with another woman in tech, who would it be?
I’d switch places with Vanessa Van Edwards. She’s credible, captivating, and genuinely eager to share what her research has taught her about how people connect. What I admire most is that she stays human and authentic while remaining polished and poised, which is a hard balance to strike. A week in her role would be a masterclass in turning research into something people can actually use, and that’s exactly the kind of work I care about: helping ideas land with the people they’re meant for.
How is Hylaine supporting women in the tech workforce?
At Hylaine, we’re passionate about women in STEM, and we show up for that commitment through the women-centric events and sponsorships we support throughout the year. That passion extends to women’s equity more broadly. We recently signed a four-year sponsorship with the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team to upgrade their locker room to the same standard as the men’s. It’s a tangible example of what we believe: that women deserve the same investment, resources, and opportunities as their peers, whether that’s on the court or in the tech workforce.

Book Recommendations, Favorite Ways to Spend a Day-of & a Go-To Quote
Book Recommendations
Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. This is the book I recommend most. Gilbert makes the case for living beyond fear and treating creativity as part of everyday life, not just art. It balances the spiritual and the practical in a way that feels deeply human, and it reminds me that creative thinking belongs in our work, our challenges, and the dreams we’ve put on hold.
You Win in the Locker Room First by Jon Gordon and Mike Smith. This one gives leaders a practical framework for building culture first, strengthening relationships and teamwork, and letting results follow. It’s a reminder that great organizations are built from the inside out.
Favorite Way to Spend a Day Of
My favorite days off are spent with my kids: my two 4-year-old boys and my 7-year-old daughter. If we can be near water, even better. We love exploring everything Western North Carolina has to offer, from the mountains to the lakes and rivers. And when we’re home, you’ll usually find me baking, often with a few little helpers in the kitchen.
