Member Spotlight: Build-A-Bookie
This month’s member spotlight features Build-A-Bookie, submitted by founder Vincent Durham. Headquartered in Charlotte and operating in the SportsTech sector, Build-A-Bookie is transforming everyday competition into a fun, trackable experience, allowing users to create challenges, track lifetime stats, and compete with friends, teams, and communities—all without the financial risks associated with traditional gambling.
Build-A-Bookie's Origin Story
Build-A-Bookie started with the belief that you should be able to bet on yourself and become the star. Most of our best stats from growing up are lost or stuck in dusty record books. I built Build-A-Bookie to bring those moments to life, letting people track their lifetime stats and compete in a fun, risk-free way.
What problems are they are solving for customers?
• Competition today is unstructured (group chats, spreadsheets, memory)
• No place to track personal or group stats over time
• Gambling adds financial risk to what should be fun
We solve this by turning any activity into a structured, trackable competition with leaderboards and lifetime stats, all risk-free.
Build-A-Bookie's Future Plans
• Expand star, team, and league stat tracking (core paid product)
• Connect health, golf, or other APIs to make tracking and book creation even simpler
• Partner with bars, leagues, and communities for live competitions
• Grow into the “ESPN for your life” where anyone can track and compete
