NC TECH at the TECNA 2025 Summer Conference

In July, NC TECH team members traveled to Montréal for the Technology Councils of North America (TECNA) Summer Conference, joining colleagues and leaders from across the U.S. and Canada to connect, collaborate, and explore ideas surrounding technology associations.

The annual gathering brought together tech associations from across North America to share best practices, discuss emerging trends, and strengthen the collective impact of the tech sector. The event sparked fresh ideas that we’re excited to bring back to North Carolina.

“Attending the TECNA Summer Conference in Montréal with my colleagues was both energizing and insightful. The opportunity to hear from incredible leaders and connect with peers from across North America reminded me of the true value of associations, the importance of DEI, and the power of telling our story. I left with fresh ideas, a stronger sense of community and maybe even a new appreciation for poutine!"

Mikayla Smith, Manager of Marketing + Communications

The conference also provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships with peers from other regions. Building connections across the broader tech community helps NC TECH continue to deliver meaningful programming, advocacy, and resources for our members.

I had a great experience at the 2025 TECNA Conference in Montreal, connecting with like-minded individuals and gaining valuable insightsI brought back several fresh ideas for enhancing member experiences and building stronger engagement.”

Ben Tramontana, Manager of Membership Services

The NC TECH team also had the opportunity to explore Montréal by trying local cuisine, visiting different parts of the city, and even participating in some local activities. The ultimate takeaway was the renewed energy and ideas that will help fuel our work in the months ahead to deliver even greater value to our members.

From innovative programming to tips on building stronger communities and delivering more value for our members, I walked away with so many takeaways—and the fact it all happened in Montreal made it even better.”

Alex Taylor, Manager of Programs + Digital Experience

We are grateful to TECNA for hosting such an engaging and impactful event, and we look forward to continuing the conversations and collaborations sparked in Montréal.
