What makes you excited to go to work each day?
I feel incredibly lucky to have the chance to make a real difference and move the needle for my company. What drives me is the opportunity to help shape our direction while building strong, meaningful relationships with clients and partners. This role keeps me on my toes, whether it’s solving tough challenges, driving growth, expanding into new markets, or staying ahead of industry trends, all while delivering real, measurable results.
I’m passionate about aligning with our mission, learning and growing every day, and celebrating the wins we achieve as a team. The mix of influence, creativity, and lasting impact makes this work exciting and truly rewarding.
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
Growing up with very few role models in business, struggling in school, and navigating challenges like dyslexia and an introverted personality, it would’ve been hard for most people who knew me back then to imagine I’d build a career in sales and business development. My competitive nature and curiosity to learn helped me push past insecurities that might have otherwise led me down a very different career path than the one I've built over the last 25 years.
While stepping onto a stage to address large audiences or leading tough negotiations with customers, partners, and strong-willed leaders doesn’t always come naturally or fill me with confidence, my passion for making a meaningful impact drives me forward. Whether in business, family, or my community, that passion has been the key to transforming me from a shy, uncertain kid into someone who embraces challenges and turns them into opportunities for growth.
Why are you involved with NC TECH and what's your favorite activity or event?
My journey with NC TECH began over 20 years ago when I served as an ambassador, back when it was known as NCEITA. Even as a brand-new sales professional starting my career in Raleigh, I immediately recognized the tremendous value this organization brought to the community. Today, I still regard NC TECH as the leading technology organization in North Carolina and feel honored to once again invest my time and resources in its growth.
This organization plays a pivotal role in enriching our community, and the caliber of its member organizations and their representatives is truly outstanding.
What excites me most is the opportunity to forge new, meaningful relationships and contribute to North Carolina’s thriving business ecosystem. I look forward to sharing ideas, collaborating on innovative initiatives, and exploring new opportunities to strengthen and advance the state’s tech industry.
What's your favorite hidden gem in North Carolina?:
Growing up on the coast of North Carolina, I’ve been lucky to experience so many incredible spots along the "Crystal Coast." It’s tough to pick just one.
While most people know about the Outer Banks and its beautiful barrier islands, the real hidden gems are in the small towns and fishing villages scattered along the coast. Taking a ferry from the mainland to the islands is an adventure on its own, but the best part is getting to know the locals. For generations, they've welcomed visitors from all over, and their warmth adds so much to the experience.
Unlike other coastal areas, much of this region hasn’t been overrun by commercial development, so you can truly enjoy the untouched beauty and history of this unique part of North Carolina.
