Member Spotlight: Cyera

Cyera was founded in 2021 by Yotam Segev and Tamar Bar-Ilan in response to the challenges of securing data in the cloud. The company's mission is to help businesses understand and secure their data.

The founders were inspired by the challenges of ensuring that business stakeholders have secure access to sensitive data.
They interviewed more than 100 CISOs and found that they couldn't confidently answer basic questions about their data, such as where it was, who could access it, and how to secure it.

What problem(s) are you currently solving for your customers?

  • Data visibility and risk management: Cyera provides comprehensive visibility of sensitive data across cloud and on-premises environments, helping organizations discover, classify, and monitor their data assets. This is done without agents, with speed, scale and accuracy as the top differentiators.
  • Automated risk detection and mitigation: The platform automatically identifies data exposures and security risks, offering prioritized remediation guidance to reduce the attack surface.
  • Compliance and privacy management: Cyera helps streamline compliance efforts by detecting privacy risks and supporting global privacy requirements, particularly for regulations like CCPA.
  • Unified data security: The platform offers a single solution for end-to-end visibility and control over data across cloud and on-premises environments, simplifying data security management.
  • Data loss prevention: With the recent acquisition of Trail Security, Cyera now provides advanced DLP capabilities, enabling real-time protection against data loss.
  • AI and cloud security challenges: Cyera addresses growing data security concerns related to AI adoption and cloud environments, helping organizations navigate these complex landscapes.

By addressing these challenges, Cyera enables organizations to secure their data, reduce risks, maintain compliance, and leverage their information assets more effectively across complex IT environments.

To be THE DATA SECURITY PLATFORM OF THE FUTURE!

Expansion of data security capabilities: Cyera aims to become the most comprehensive platform in the data security market by enhancing its Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) tool and adding further capabilities within Data Loss Prevention (DLP).

Consolidation of data security tools: The company plans to introduce new functionalities in areas such as privacy, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), and AI security. Their goal is to provide a unified platform for enterprises to run their entire data security program.
Talent acquisition: Cyera intends to recruit approximately 200 new employees by the end of 2025, with at least 100 new hires planned in Israel for development, cybersecurity, and engineering roles.

Channel strategy development: For 2025, Cyera is taking a focused approach with key partners, aiming to fully enable their teams and enter the market together with a high-touch approach.
Investment in R&D: The company plans to heavily invest in engineering and software development to expand its platform and offer additional products to customers.

Market expansion: Cyera aims to see large enterprises running their data security programs end-to-end on their platform within a year, covering DSPM, DLP, AI security, GRC, privacy operations, and identity data access governance.

These plans are supported by Cyera's recent $300 million Series D funding round, which increased the company's valuation to $3 billion.
