State of Technology

state of tech

Executives from across sectors and functional roles gathered May 4 at our flagship tech conference for a day of engaging keynotes, interactive panel discussions, fast paced pitch competition from tech startups and an Exhibit Showcase. A pre-conference reception was held the evening prior, on May 3.

Over 550+ attendees joined NC TECH and presenting sponsor IBM at the 2018 State of Technology Conference as we explored Artificial Intelligence and how it is impacting our work, play and world and what we can expect to see in the future.

Theme: Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has progressed from a scientific endeavor to an essential tool in the constant evolution of innovation and business transformation.

The opportunity is here and now to harness AI as an engine of progress and prosperity, so that people and machines can work side by side in partnership, drawing on the unique strengths of each.

That partnership will enable us to make smarter and faster decisions based on insights that were previously unavailable. Machines that can learn and derive insights from vast stores of unstructured information have the potential to substantially augment human capability in nearly every profession.

AI will complement knowledge work in the same way that automation complemented physical labor, redefining the specific tasks that comprise most occupations – ultimately producing better business results.
